Well, my vacation has sort of
started, although I don't work Mondays (so tomorrow doesnt' really count, does it?) and I have to work Wednesday . . .
Anyway, we went to the beach yesterday to watch some of the runners reach the Coast part of the Hood to Coast relay. Then we had a nice dinner, played tennis, got ice cream and walked on the beach . . . and finally came home. When we got here, the house was an oven and the cats were traumatized. Seemed we screwed up the alarm and the cats set it off. The cops came and our neighbor with a key let them in. I can only imagine these guys traipsing around the house with the cats! Yikes.
Tonight we'll watch the Closing Ceremonies from Beijing, and then tomorrow the US Open starts! This morning I saw Andy Roddick and Novak Djokovic making fun of each other during Arthur Ashe Day festivities. (Hey, nice entertainment, event producer. I'm glad to see boybands are still alive and well.)
On another note, after a beautiful Saturday, it's now started raining. Nice for my first days of vaca.
