Okay, I sat here for ten minutes trying to figure out what I'm thankful for today. As I prepare for tomorrow's get-together with Angel, I think I should mention I'm thankful for him, for getting to know him so well during our Centennial celebration, for the synergy we have, the way we spark one another and the way our sparks usually result in a full-blown creative flame. Aside from his work with programs like Living History and the Clown Corps, I think he's going to help keep me on track with my writing, and I hope I'm able to do the same for him.
In the meantime, it's getting cold this weekend. As many of my flisters have already had lots of brrr and snow, it probably seems silly, but it's big drama around here. At least it won't interfere with work (we usually shut down at the first sign of a flake), it will just eff-up the weekend. I'm imagining having the tree up (the fake one we need to buy from WalMart tomorrow), having a fire (a little one with one of those crackly fake logs) while we decorate and watch 'The House Without a Christmas Tree.' (Did I mention I'm thankful for my imagination?)
Executive Committee today was bearable. It's the first one I've attended in three months, which is unprecedented. I took my laptop and hacked into the hosting law firm's WiFi, but mostly I took notes to help out our new admin. I can't believe I spent an hour or so today re-doing the minutes from the fall board meeting. That was an acid flashback!
It was fun coming up with more creative (crazy?) things for programming today. I love how much positive feedback I get, although it's undoubtedly due to the dearth of creativity around our office overall.
I think it's almost time to go stick The Dark Knight in the machine. I picked up a full screen copy at noon, which will make for better screencaps. Tomorrow I'm getting the WalMart special edition with the coin. Target had one with a Batman mask today that was totally sold out. This thing is going to set records for dvd sales.
