Finishing 'Scars' -- I mean it!

I tweaked 'Scars' for the hundredth time last night. I couldn't finish the holiday making Charlie read it through one more time -- too depressing. So I put her on notice that we have to do that today. I need to put it up, although there won't be any 'audience' for it. I'll put it at the Colin slash list and at When Darkness Beckons and over at the S.W.A.T. fanfic swat_fic eventually. And then I'll start begging for a banner and for Charlie to get it up to the website (which is a little behind).

Then I'm going to work on 'Fecund Knight.' Must finish one more chapter while I'm on vaca.

And, I started listening to the writer's commentary version of 'S.W.A.T.' to get insight into the script. Loved the allusion from one of them to Maverick and Iceman. It was funny to hear that Jim Street got 'Chopper' because Colin Farrell wanted the character to have a dog (which the writers thought was crazy, since Street would hardly be able to care for one).

We took Sue to dinner, in hopes that will fulfill some of our 'obligatory social' for the week. I got an email from TriMet Ed that I need to answer, but I haven't heard from Sara, and I'm disappointed! I want to get her dvd in the mail this week.

I got great response from my 'Kingdom of Heaven' drabble Strange Natures at the KOH community koh_slash_fic. It was really nice.

Writing a drabble like that one is such wonderful discipline. There is nothing like drabble-writing to force you to choose your words and make them count. I just love it. I think it makes me better.

Oh. 'Troy' is on. It's the scene where Achilles and Hector meet at the temple of Apollo. /thud

LJ is acting up again. "Database unavailable" is coming up a lot -- and once again memories seems to be down, which makes it hard to hunt for fanfic. Oh well!

I read it this morning ("Scars"), and I'm speechless (almost). It was brutally honest and believable. And heartbreaking. I'm honored to have the dedication and acknowledgment in the story (and I loved that you used the poem). Good job!

I was honored to be the beta for this amazing piece of work, frankly. It's just an incredible fanfic that really displays the Gamble/Street pairing in all its angsty goodness. Very real.

Jimbo, Marilyn and I are so glad we met up with you and Brian, by the way!

Thanks, Jim. I really respect your opinion, and I was a little concerned how you'd feel about the end of the story, you being a cop and all . . .

It seems so final, but I know that in other fanfic, Jim and Brian will live on!
7th-Jul-2005 12:00 am (UTC) - very moving!
I loved the fic 'Scars'. You write with wonderful details, so emotional, but so sad.

Thanks, Koi! You are so sweet to read through this (very) long fic.

LJ has been acting up for days now, on my end at least. :(
