Just listening to Colin accepting a Golden Globe for In Bruges. Huge Squee-time. (Man, he's yammering a lot, so he must have thought at least a little about winning. He looks cuter than hell, tho.)

This is my first two-day weekend in more than six months (not counting the Auction weekend, of course). Wow, you really have to cram stuff in. I barely remembered. (At least I found the time to be tanned and blonde again, hehe.)

I just sent out the reminder to our Writing Circle folks. We meet tomorrow for the first time with this new group of eight. Four of us we're part of our original group, four are new. We're very excited and I've already written a draft of a mission statement and sent it out with the reminder.

We decided to write drabbles for this first meeting, because it's easy and quick to read at the meeting. I expect we'll have a lot more socializing than crit going on. I wrote my drabble last night, based on our winter snowstorm. (I just wanted to use this weather analogy I came up with.) I'm really looking forward to this.

And for some reason I decided to take ownership of an existing Christian Bale community bulletcatch that the maintainer wanted to give up. I've decided it would be a great Christian Bale drabble community, with all the drabbles based on Bale characters or Bale himself. Plus, of course, other good stuff, like icons and news about CB. Charlie's promised to help. (This after I told her we *were not* starting a Batman drabble community because we DID NOT HAVE TIME.)

He is precious cute isn't he :)

Cracked me up when he said, I have a cold, it is not the other thing it used to be.

And I loved when he said love is the nemesis to ignorance...

Yeah, good thing he said that, although I was still skeptical. He acted totally coked up.

OMG, Colin did look hot! He makes me want to . . . write a drabble, drool or something, lol.

Your writing circle, what kinds of things do you write about? Is it slash fiction? I wish I had a group of friends like that.

Our first challenge was a drabble about 'change.' We're writing mainstream stuff. A couple of the writers are more expository. I always write fiction, but no fanfic for this group.

It was hard to find people willing to do this again. It's been more than a year since our last group. But we're happy with the membership, a nice cross of serious writers and newbies.

It'll be interesting to see how the 'crit' part of it goes.

Being the leader was stressful, I'll be honest. It was harder than leading a steering committee meeting at work. I was exhausted afterwards.
