Okay, I'm going to have to filter out some of my communities in order to keep up with my flist. As things get busier and busier, it's going to get tougher and tougher. (Charlie will have to show me how.)

I missed a whole prompt at the new Batman drabble community. And I have to get my Alfred/Lucius thing done this weekend. (Thank God Monday's a holiday.)

The last two days have been crazy, today because of the schedule, yesterday because of our Writers Group. But the group went very well last night, and I actually did get make some progress on a couple work projects today. Despite the ridiculous snow and at least one annoying meeting, I didn't feel despair as I drifted to sleep after dinner. This is a good thing.

I can't believe I completely missed Westminster this year! I saw the winning dog before I had a chance to even watch the Best in Show competition on my DVR. And I know I would have loved seeing the oldest dog in Westminster history take the prize.

There's just not enough time.

So next month I need to time the reviewers during our Writers Group. There were a couple who went loooong. And I need to emphasize the need to write down the comments in advance. Now that I've decided to just run the group the way I run committee and/or meetings at work, it's much less stressful for me. I do better at dictatorship than democracy. Anyone who doesn't like it can defect. And the reaction I got from almost everybody was GRATITUDE. Nice.

Is it really only four days until the Oregon Celebration Ball? Holy shit. Our state is about to turn 150!

Gladly. It's easy to do. I suppose I need to do it more, too. I don't seem to be keeping up AT ALL this month -- with posting or commenting. So I get where you're coming from!

Thank God Monday's a holiday.

Ditto! I have so damn much to do...

The last two days have been crazy, today because of the schedule, yesterday because of our Writers Group.

Again, ditto. But I did feel I got a lot done today (whether that's really true, or not). And yesterday was busy, busy, busy -- but a good day!

But the group went very well last night...

Agreed! I think it was really successful this time around!

There's just not enough time.

Wow, is that ever the truth!!!

So next month I need to time the reviewers during our Writers Group. There were a couple who went loooong.

Um... yeah. No shit. (heh)

And I need to emphasize the need to write down the comments in advance.

As I've now said many, many times, thank you, Eric Witchey! He was so right on.

Now that I've decided to just run the group the way I run committee and/or meetings at work, it's much less stressful for me. I do better at dictatorship than democracy. Anyone who doesn't like it can defect. And the reaction I got from almost everybody was GRATITUDE. Nice.

Perfect. I knew all along that you just needed to LEAD this baby -- and we'd all follow. It works for me!!!

Hard to believe! I'm excited for the ball!!! I'm glad Saturday's weather is supposed to be good. (Thanks, God!)

I'll figure out what to wear to the ball. I promise.

How do you run a committee or meeting?

Do you ever have to spank anyone? :-))))

So you'll be going to a ball. Do you know what you will be wearing?

Sounds like fun but maybe a bit scary.

Don't spread yourself so thin, I need you here, *hugs*.

Oh man, I wish I could spank! (I keep my bull whip in my office, and occasionally I get it out and crack it, just to keep up my rep as a badass, hehe.) Actually, the trick with our organization is making it seem like the chairman is running the meeting when it's actually the staff person. It's an interesting (and sometimes exhausting) balancing act.

Luckily my parade and steering committee chair is the same person, and she's someone who appreciates me a ton and just turns it over most of the time, or she jumps in and tries to soften me from time to time. That woman can deliver the worst news with a little smile on her face, which I guess comes from working in emergency services.

No! I still don't know for sure what I'll wear to the ball, but I think it will be the tuxedo I bought from my friend who's an auctioneer. I got it a couple summers ago, and it's very forgiving to the figure (because it's a man's tux). I only wear the pants and the vest and the bow, then I wear a bustier for some major boobage to fem it up. I don't think I can face a dress or a gown.

I love the people who will be sitting at our table at the ball, and I'm looking forward to seeing the living history characters from Oregon. One is Abigail Scott Duniway, who is one of my life heroines. I can't wait to see her, and I just hope she's done as well as our living history folks are. (You should google her and read about her. She was an amazing woman. I found a short bio here.)

(If I keep editing this post, I'll eventually get it right.)

I'm trying to balance everything, but it's a struggle right now. Maybe when it warms up I'll settle in a little. I really must start working out again!

Wearing the tux with that added fem sounds cool, well actually it sounds pretty hot.

I remember Abigail Duniway, she also was one of my heroines.

haha

All I saw were the hounds ... still do not know who one, will have to look....

I love democracy, BUT some groups do NOT have the skills for it - sadly it is like organizing is the goal to teach them how to work as a democracy? or to do something else.... good for you choosing what you needed!

Well, the goal of our committee meetings is to make it seem like the chairperson is leading while it's really the staff person. And then to actually accomplish something other than listening to ourselves talk. (!) I love doing our steering meetings, and I'm good at it, but it is stressful.

Better get to bed, because tomorrow I start the day with one!

I zapped the final day of Westminster from my dvr, because I realized I would not be spending three hours watching it, now that I've seen the winning dog. It's just not the same.

I didn't feel despair as I drifted to sleep after dinner. This is a good thing. that's always a very good thing.

There's just not enough time. Never, but as Morpheous told Neo, you have to take time to make time.

Yes. I must take time to make time. I just have to figure out how.
