So, for the past three days I've been a little sick. Not a lot sick, not devastating or even all that debilitating, but bad enough to want to lie around and sleep a lot. When I think back, this is the first work I've missed since November, so for me that ain't bad. But, still . . . just when summer seems like it's finally here, it sucks (at least a little) to feel sick.
The good news is, I finally finished my Public Enemies
story last night. After nearly a year (this was the first one I ever started, writing it at the beach last summer), it was about time to get the thing done. I got severely stuck because of the sex, because I wanted a significant sex scene and I hate writing them so much. It's the only Purvis/Dillinger story I've written (have I really written much at all in this fandom? uh-uh), and it's a bit bitter-sweet (*everything* about Melvin Purvis is bittersweet!). Anyway, I finished in time for the 76th anniversary of Dillinger's death (sorta) and the fan-fest at guns_fedoras
Have I mentioned that I'm the slowest, most painstaking writer in fanfic? It's ridiculous, and the results hardly warrant it. You'd think the Pullitzer Prize committee was watching over my shoulder.
Why doesn't writing get easier?
Our trip to Forks on Monday was a BLAST!!! I can't believe how geeked out I am over the whole thing.
And while I've been sick I've discovered TV.com, and I've gotten all caught up in writing reviews and contributing quotes. After a couple days of doing this, I'm on 'Level 2,' almost good enough to be able to upload an icon. Now, I know this will wear off once I'm well again (and that's a good thing, because I can't keep up with everything already--I *do not* need another on line hobby), but in the meantime, I'm having fun. I just wrote a rocking review of 'V, The Original Series.'!
