I can hear the rain and wind as I write this, and I turned on the furnace for the first time in months. (God, we need a new furnace, but if Charlie doesn't get well soon, we'll be stuck with this one for another winter. And we never got the deck covered, and now it's a slimy mess . . .)
Anyway, I couldn't bring myself to post about the auction. It was a lovely show and people had a fantastic time. But it wasn't the fundraiser we hoped for. At this point I hope we make budget. Jenny and I definitely set ourselves up to be disappointed on this one.
Then Friday a kid ran a stop sign and crashed into me . . . now, of course, he claims it's all my fault. Too bad, since he was really nice at the time, until he realized he only has liability coverage and he's now stuck without a car. My car is drivable, thank goodness. But now I'll be out the $500 deductible until my insurance company can collect it from his. And I'll have the annoyance and inconvenience of dealing with the whole thing. Wasn't it just two years ago this month that I had to go through this?
And why is lying such a normal thing in life? Don't people realize the bad kharma every single lie creates?
Friday our router went out, and we could only stay connected on line for about four minutes at a time. $50 later, we're back on (and moving faster than ever).
Oh, well! On the good side, I'm welcoming two new friends to my flist, and that's wonderful! Both friends of Charlie's, I've heard about them for ages and am glad to have them aboard! Welcome ohmorningglory
