What? I haven't even posted yet in 2007? I can't believe it! What a crazy-busy year it's been already, and this is the first time I've done an entry . . . I guess any resolution I had to be better about blogging hasn't grabbed hold yet. (Same as that resolution to get my butt back on the treadmill and stop stuffing carbs into my face.)
At least I did a Centennial blog entry last week (but I have no idea what I'm writing for this week . . . maybe about the motion picture project).
I've been mildly disgrunted the last couple days for whatever reason. I think because I've had so many sponsor meetings (which are not my favorite) and we've been fighting the threat of bad weather that might have screwed up a couple of other big meetings. If the Sister City Association meeting we had this afternoon had been cancelled and re-scheduled, my head would have popped. Thank God it wasn't, even though two of the delegates didn't show. The Mayor's office wouldn't set the meeting up, so we did it ourselves, and then we found out DURING today's meeting that it was announced today a new person in the Mayor's office is taking over International Affairs. It's been musical chairs at City Hall the last few weeks.
It was our first official Centennial presentation using our new Power Point presentation, and it went well. It was snowing by the time I left work, but nothing drastic. It will be icy in the morning, but I don't have another meeting until 10:00, so hopefully it will work out.
We are complete weather wimps in Portland. The slightest threat of snow or ice and the local media goes nuts, getting their 'storm teams' geared up and out to every potentially slippery spot in town, pre-empting normal programming for extending coverage. It's insane.
(Thank God Charlie got our PowerBall ticket today so work can become a hobby and I can become our unofficial Centennial sponsor!)
Anyway, tomorrow afternoon Jeff and I are going to Commissioner Adams' office in the afternoon, and then I have to run to my doctor's office (where I started my week on Monday morning) right after. THEN
I have the New Director Orientation at 5:00!
So, my 'annual physical' last week (which I haven't bothered with for two years) included a chest x-ray and a TB test (huh?) which I'm getting evaluated tomorrow. (If it bumps up, I've been exposed supposedly. It isn't even visible anymore, btw. I had more of a reaction to the adhesive on the bandaid.) I spent three hours at the doctor last week and postponed these two tests because I couldn't take another minute of sitting around waiting for more tests! (A great way to have to make two co-pays in two weeks.) They gave me a tetanus shot that still hurts! And I'm getting pushed and pushed to get the UTB test (as I call it) which I have to figure out how to schedule. Yikes. It's too much work to be healthy. I don't have time for it.
Gotta run. It's 2:00 a.m. and I've (really) gotta go!
(Great first entry to the year.)
