Janice--Don't Fuck
It's interesting to have such a frustrating day, where for a while you're on a cloud, then you're dashed to earth without warning.

Our DVD came yesterday, and I had a chance to play the movie in my office and later to sit with Ira and look at the feature cut and discuss parts of it. It's something I'll be proud to have my name on forever, and who knows where it will all lead! Even if it never wins an award or gets more than the rave review it got in the newspaper, it will live long after me (with family photos representing characters in the film).

Then at the parade recap meeting I was blindsided by a key volunteer, who was fuming over an imagined slight -- an incident I was knew nothing about.

Now, I haven't complained about 60-80 hour weeks for the past seven months (which is a lot for a 90% FTE). I worked 13 hours Monday and 11 hours yesterday with no break. Every minute (just about) has been a labor of love, even dealing with the naysayers and critics (which were few and far between). But my patience for volunteers, well meaning and other, ran out weeks ago. I'm just sick of it.

Thank goodness we took time out (and allowed ourselves to forego sleep, which is overrated) to see the latest Harry Potter movie last night at midnight. It was fantastic, and it was just the break I needed.

Back to work. There's a $5.00 charge for whining in my office.

Those volunteers can consider themselves lucky to have someone like you to boss over them!! (Imagine the chaos without you!!)

For the most part, they truly DO. (smile) We've got some very cool volunteers who think Marilyn is INCREDIBLE (which she is). Oh! And it's clear you get how good she is at what she does, which is nice! They are lucky. (So am I, to have her as my boss!)

What kind of movie did you make??!! So exciting!!

The movie is about the festival -- and is truly the same quality you'd see from a Hollywood-made film. And Marilyn will have her name on it FOREVER as the Producer! How cool is that? (Yeah, I'm a PROUD sister. Heh.)

We need to pop the $25 each to buy some DVDs for our friends (if we can afford it), so they can see the movie. It's really incredible. I'm not kidding...
