Mistress Marilyn's POV

Thanksgiving Weekend, etc.
26th-Nov-2007 03:13 pm
Lazy weekend, and it felt weird . . . We had our favorite pizza (or pizzas, two of them) for Thanksgiving. When we got to the restaurant on Wednesday night they had forgotten one of them, so they gave us the second for free (nice way to save $25)! The weather for Thanksgiving, before and after, was absolutely stunning sunshine, so we took rides on Wednesday, Thursday and yesterday.

The stuffed nose of a cold has been sniffing around, so to speak, so I've been taking it pretty easy. But I have this odd, nagging feeling all the time that there's something important I should be doing. I'm so used to being under pressure and having stacks of stuff to do, I can't seem to let myself be okay with just blogging or surfing or whatever.

I now have in my head the outline of a novel I'm going to write, and I also worked this weekend to get that outline on paper. Too bad I didn't come up with it in time for NaNo (it's a little late now), but the idea actually came clearly to me during my massage last week. Speaking of massage, my shoulder is really starting to respond. I'm excited to have almost the full range of motion back.

Tonight's my task force meeting, even though today isn't technically a work day. The good news is, I only work two days this week.

On the tennis front, Roger *did* win the Masters, so all's right with the world, even though he managed to let down his guard and allow Sampras to take one of the three exhibition matches they played last week in Asia. So now we'll watch Davis Cup live here in Portland this weekend, and then tennis takes a rest until Australia in late January. Two years ago the plan was to go to the 2008 Australian Open, but that's a cost-prohibitive trip. It will now have to wait until at least 2009 or 2010, and something drastic will have to happen to be able to afford it.

Sometimes it takes a while to adjust to time off.
Good that you're enjoying it! Pizza!!! Ummmm!!!
What happened to your shoulder? (I must have missed something.)
Massages work wonders for many ailments.
Will you be posting about your novel?
Australia does sound inviting....especially for tennis in your case!

You know, I never did figure out what happened to my shoulder. It just started to hurt last January, and by March it had gotten worse and worse. When I went to the sports physician in April, he said I had a calcium buildup in my rotator cuff and had exacerbated it by non-use, developing a 'frozen shoulder.' I was supposed to start physical therapy, but there was no way to fit it in, so now I get a massage about every three or four weeks.

I'd take a massage any day over physical therapy! Always feels good!! My neck could really use one now ~ sigh!
