Was it the best Wimbledon final of all time, or was it just torture? I couldn't quite figure out ... but I was certainly elated with the result.
Overall, I LOVED
Wimbledon this year. I loved the coverage, mostly. Three channels, with great work done on both the Tennis Channel and ESPN. Screw NBC, of course, for continuing to give those of us on the west coast nothing live except for the finals. (And 'Breakfast at Wimbledon' turned into a late lunch yesterday ...) Anyway, I loved hearing folks like Boris Becker and Tim Henman doing commentating on TTC.
And, of course, I loved seeing Rafa finally win. He actually believed in himself this year. He should have won last year, but he just didn't believe he could. And this year it started to look like he still didn't in that fourth set.
But he held firm in the end.
How sweet it is. And how sweet he is.
