Happy 50th, Madonna!

madonna 50: charliemc
Just had to mention Madonna's 50th . . . seems like the world keeps aging . . . what's that about? Eventually we'll all catch up with each other, believe it or not.

And, yes, friends out there, you, too, will turn 50 someday. And hopefully you'll still feel fabulous and live a fabulous life. The picture of me on my default icon was taken a couple days after my 50th. And there's never a day I get up and think "I'm old"; in fact, I'm shocked when I hear a reference to it.

I still remember having one of the princesses refer to Madonna as "old" in a newspaper interview some 16 or 17 years ago. I remember giving her hell about it. And just think, now that girl is older than Madonna was then, and I bet she doesn't look or feel near as good as Madge does at 50.

Age really is a state of mind. And if you can keep your body healthy, there's nothing to fear.

Most people in my opinion feel fairly 'young' until a severe health problem arises. When I was in my 50's I often felt in my 80's, when I got past most of the health problem, I felt in my 30's and 40's again.
Now, I enjoy being 60...often feel more like 40 but sprinkled with days of 70's.
Yes, we can help of sense of wellness and youth but I don't fight it when my body says it's 'too old for today'....it just needs rest.
Rest makes a difference but too much non-activity will age a person rapidly.
(Gosh, I'm full of opinions tonight!)

I think people *should* feel young, but I know far too many people who talk all the time about how old they are. And they use their age as an excuse to not do certain things.

I agree health has a lot to do with it. When I got my shoulder problem last year, I didn't equate it with age. But I knew other people would, so I rarely referred to it. I figure my body has good days and bad days, and I had a lot more of those bad days when I was younger.

Yes, I definitely need to rest more to recuperate . . . I just don't seem to find the time. But I also follow a rigorous vitamin regimen that I think makes a difference and has helped me transform myself. I'm a real believer in vitamins.

Thanks for taking the time to share your opinions with me! I love it!
