Happy 50th, Madonna!

madonna 50: charliemc
Just had to mention Madonna's 50th . . . seems like the world keeps aging . . . what's that about? Eventually we'll all catch up with each other, believe it or not.

And, yes, friends out there, you, too, will turn 50 someday. And hopefully you'll still feel fabulous and live a fabulous life. The picture of me on my default icon was taken a couple days after my 50th. And there's never a day I get up and think "I'm old"; in fact, I'm shocked when I hear a reference to it.

I still remember having one of the princesses refer to Madonna as "old" in a newspaper interview some 16 or 17 years ago. I remember giving her hell about it. And just think, now that girl is older than Madonna was then, and I bet she doesn't look or feel near as good as Madge does at 50.

Age really is a state of mind. And if you can keep your body healthy, there's nothing to fear.

I too feel that age is a state of mind almost as much as a state of the calendar. I may be almost forty but I still feel most days more like twenty and I love it. We are all going to age, it happens to the best of us, but we don't ever have to feel old without our consent.

PS: I love Madonna. I would like her to be like the lady in my icon, Marianne Faithfull, still making music and raising hell for just as long as she wants to.

I'm glad to hear there are women like you who are feeling great past 30-something! When it comes to people accepting women at all ages, I think it helps that all these pop icons and actresses are aging and doing it well.

And, YES, Madonna will go on as long as she wants, despite all the detractors.

Wow, Marianne looks great.
