So, while I was sitting around at the computer listening
to tennis this morning, I continued the research on my current Dark Knight story, which I'm enjoying immensely. I called Rossi's Deli in Gotham City and got their hours, then decided to email an order for a couple pastrami sandwiches. Here's the reply I got:Due to a shortage of drivers, we are only accepting orders for carry-out at this time.
Your carry-out order will be ready in thirty minutes.
Now, I wonder if I can make it to Gotham in time to pick up my order ... Charlie still has to take a shower.
And can I just say--and I apologize if this is redundant, but it deserves another mention if I've said it before--that the viral marketing campaign for The Dark Knight is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. The amount of detail for the ARG is fantastic background for my story, and I'm making my own assumptions and taking my own license with what I'm learning. I had an Ah-Ha
moment just a while ago, and I had to go and make a slight edit to Part Two of "Batskin" because of it.
Oh, yes, we are having fun here. Despite the rain in New York City.
