So this year they made good by making her the star of the VMA's, someone who has never won a VMA, not even dance video for 'I'm a Slave for You,' or pop video for 'Hit Me Baby One More Time'!
Britney and MTV fed off each other for years, and it was about time the music giant threw their tarnished pop princess a bone, even if it did feel a bit forced and unnatural.
My favorite things: Rihanna's 'Disturbia' (my new ringtone) and Russell Brand's outrageous efforts as emcee. If he had taken one more crack at Bush or the Jonas Brothers, he would probably have been assassinated when he left the show (by a pissed off NRA member or a "pissed on" teenage fan).
Oh, and we finally have a decent #1 woman tennis player, because Serena's US Open win gets her back to that spot! Not surprisingly, Rafa didn't rebound, and Andy Murray has lived up to my expectations and made it to his first Grand Slam final (on Monday, for crying out loud).
