So, November marks the end of a ten-year era. MTV is canceling 'TRL'! All those boybands, pop princesses, punk rockers and rappers . . . all those videos and fangirls and crowds of teens in Times Square . . . not to mention the endless pimping of flicks and TV shows that just might
appeal to a younger crowd by awkward adults who openly wished they were elsewhere.
Those were the days! Snarky Carson Daly capitalizing on Nsync vs. BSB, Britney vs. Christina, Blink 182 vs. Sum 41, Eminem vs. Everyone.
Occasionally I still turn on TRL just to get the vibe, even though it hasn't been the same for five years or more.
Can we just turn back the clock for a few days and re-visit pre-9/11 Pop Culture? I miss it.
(I'm not at all nostalgic about anything that happened before the year 2000.)
