Busy, busy day (so far). At 3:00am last night I was watching Sarah Palin's speech before the Republican Convention, trying to let her voice into my head so I could be a convincing Palin today.
The hair worked well. Hopefully the stuff will come out and I'll be blonde again tomorrow. That remains to be seen.
I won in three of the four categories at work for our costume contest, including 'crowd pleaser.' This is a big deal for me, because I've *never* won a costume contest at work. I've won at many sci fi events for Princess Leia and Janice Rand, but I think the best I ever got was an honorable mention at our work party for Jessica Simpson a few years back. Nothing for Britney or Dead Marilyn Monroe or Draco Malfoy. I admit the competition wasn't that intense this year, but it was fun anyway. I mostly liked being in my two meetings dressed as Palin and handing out Halloween candy to our 75 trick-or-treaters, whose parents got off on it.
So tonight I want to go to the midnight write-in for NaNo, but Charlie's too sick to go and I'm not sure if I will. We'll see. I'm not all that social usually, but it does sound like fun. And I'm not ready to put Sarah away yet.
We'll see. In the meantime, we've turned off the lights and called it a Halloween. We did better (on our 'count') than the past two years. Thank God the rain went away.
