Mistress Marilyn's POV

O Happy Day~
5th-Nov-2008 09:50 pm
Even though I feel like warmed-over dog crap, this was a great day. I got a lot of inspiring emails and had many discussions with friends and co-workers. It was like a pay-back for all the years of disappointment.

Angel got me coffee at Starbucks. He said the place was crowded and he was the only person of color there. But he felt taller today.

Imagine how many people around the world who feel taller because of Barack Obama. I'm so happy for them.

And for us.

(Too bad about Prop 8. I just don't understand California, since they always vote Democrat on the presidential elections. I just don't get it. Wanda Sykes did a wonderful bit on Ellen about minorities' need to support each other, wondering why the black churches had come out for Proposition 8. It just makes me shake my head.)

On a totally different note, I wonder if I'll ever start Nano . . .

I think it's such a shame Proposition 8 passed! (Did you see that just_jimbo had posted about it?) And the thing with California baffles me. Are they liberals, or not???

I hear you about NaNo. I have ideas floating around in my head, but no time to write so far... We'll make up for it soon!

That made me smile and tear up when you told me about it -- and I feel so happy as I read it! How wonderful this is for so many.

Including US.

And feel better soon -- sorry I gave you my bug!

No I didn't see Jim's post, but I feel bad for them. I think Bri was always the one who wanted to get married.

I'm not blaming you for the bug . . . much.

Your end of the country isn't the only corner with "the bug". I've been feeling like death warmed over myself. As you, I too am elated with joy due to the change of direction in the country. As for the California prop8, (not living there or having read an example of the ballot statement) could it be that those who voted may have voted the opposite of what they intended due to the phrasing, as sometimes happens? I can't see how it can even reverse?!?!
Wouldn't it be nice if personal issues were personal choices and not a bouncing ball for ballots!! Personal choices have never hurt anyone else! I don't understand people wanting to dictate other's private lives. EGADS!~~ progress, right? (NOT!)

I guess the sickness is really going around. Seems early to me. I'm usually sick in February.

Of course I voted for Obama.

I guess a lot of people voted for Obama. Was your state blue or red? It was interesting to see some of the red states go blue this election.

My state was in the blue.
