So last weekend I dvr'd the National Book Awards ceremony, and last night Charlie and I watched it. (Well, actually I think it was at 5:00am this morning, but I've become such a vampire, I can't tell the difference between night and day anymore.)

God, it was so moving and inspiring to listen to these intelligent, accomplished people making speeches full of meaning and *not* being cut off by a floor director or a rude interlude of music.

If there's anywhere on earth I aspire to be someday it's at this annual event!

And on a totally un-related note, we got our annual Thanksgiving dinner of an Amalfi's pizza, and we've already been indulging. Then I wrote some more words. I'm up to about 18,000, not nearly enough. I need to get back to it.

Yes, the National Book Awards ceremony was incredible. I loved it! I'm so damn glad you DVR-ed it.

And you WILL be there, someday. (And I'll be there to see it, I know.)

The trip to Amalfi's was a blast, by the way. Talking about your book was awesome. I'm so excited about what you're writing.

And the pizza? Fabulous.

This day is like a party (work or no work)!!!
