Mistress Marilyn's POV
No shit, Tempus Fugit!
Chico and me~

brandon-far out
Today I'm thankful for my imagination. Without it, life wouldn't be worth living.

And along that line, I wrote this drabble after NaNo.

Coyote Eyes

She crouches in the wicker basket stuck in the thick foliage of the hedge, warily watching through the mouth of her counterfeit cave.

She is Chico, the Misunderstood Coyote, although she looks like a six-year-old girl with freckles and pigtails and a gap in her teeth. She first saw the beleaguered beast on Disney's Wonderful World of Color, although he was only shades of grey on her family's TV. Since that magic night, she's been slinking around the neighborhood, hiding from two-legged adversaries.

Years later she'll become the girl with kaleidoscope eyes, but for now her stare is glowing yellow.

I remember those days very clearly. And the times you were a dog, living in your 'dog house' (under the coffee table), too.

You've always had a great imagination, and it's very special! And you're an amazing writer. This drabble takes me back so well.

I'm glad you wrote and shared this!

That was our dad's fave photo of the two of us. He had it on his mirror until we took it down after we died...

I've had it up as an icon before, but took it down because I wasn't using it much. Yeah, it's pretty cute, I admit.

I've always adored Marilyn -- even when we were just little kids. (smile)

Oh, hell yes. I still feel like lying under the coffee table occasionally. (That's my fave picture of us. I am so ready to lead a parade meeting in those saddle shoes.)

Very nicely written! :)

I need to take time to write more "drabble" too, though I'm not sure I can write as well as you....

Thanks so much for reading. I *love* doing drabbles. It forces me to choose my words so carefully, and it has really improved my writing overall.

Marilyn, Marilyn, oh honey, I so understand. It sounds like my childhood, and of course I was a horse a lot of the time running all over the place. I would take off and go into the woods by myself, such memories, I would jump over fallen logs, run up the creek bank and I felt so alive.

I love the icon Charlie used here. Memories are precious things in the heart and soul.

I understand the little girl seeing the world with her yellow eyes.
