We are, for all intents and purposes, snowbound. It's a really weird feeling, one I've only had a few times in my life.

It doesn't seem to be snowing at this moment, but it didn't stop all day.

I hit the wall suddenly this evening and had to go curl up and sleep. I can totally understand the depression of the pioneer women who were holed up all winter with their families in their tiny cabins, wondering if spring would ever come. Jesus, these women needed the internet.

So, I got up tonight and worked on my website some more. I've now put in about seven or eight total hours on it, tweaking, refining and tweaking some more. The software doesn't give me many options, but I don't mind continuing to try things.

Which leads me to my post of thanks:

I'm thankful that in the past five years of my life I've learned incredible patience. This was never a quality of mine growing up, as I'm sure I've mentioned before in this blog. But it has certainly allowed me the opportunity to learn, to research and to stick to something, regardless of how impossible it seems. It's also made me a better, more well-rounded person. Oh, sure, I still get impatient about many things. And I hate to wait for the pay-off. But overall I've learned to stay cool, inside and out, and believe in the inevitable outcome.

No wonder this is considered a virtue.

Word! Thank heavens I managed to cobble up a connection - who knew I could install an ethernet router? Not me.

What sort of website are you creating?

Hurray for ethernet. Let there be light!

I'm building my author website, as I'm shopping for an agent and trying to sell a novel. I thought it would help with the query letter if I had something I could use to get my personality across a little bit more.

Another glimpse of you ~ glad you have that virtue!
A salt truck just passed while typing this....patience is key in situations like this. I'm happy you have acquired that!

(I spent a while in my younger days being an 'earth-mamma' and patience was a necessity, which I fortunately had most of my life.) You're right, it was hard on women in the past where there was no choice and it must have seemed like eternity while waiting for spring -- not to mention food shortages, possibly lack of fuel sources, etc.
