So, as punishment for a lovely birthday off, I had 250 emails to deal with on Thursday. I spent almost the entire day with my face buried in the computer. My motion-detecting overhead lights kept going out, since the sensor has a hard time seeing me in the crook of my huge desk unit. I only peed once all day, and it was canary-colored.
Sorry for the TMI, but that's how concentrated I was. (And my urine, hehe.)
The amount of birthday greetings I got was OVERWHELMING. I've never had so many. When you count Facebook, Twitter, LJ, my personal email and work voicemail and email, I swear it was close to 60 different greetings (not counting the staff b-day card). I know for sure I've never gotten as many. And I chalk it up to social media being such a great way to connect with people. Not to mention having great friends and family.
Thank you, each and every one of you, for making me feel so darned special.
Yeesh. I even heard from the high school boyfriend, the one who dumped me on Auction day in 2008. He had the day wrong, but he did send an email.
The day ended up *not* being sunny, so we stayed in and got the new Virtual Villager game. We've had fun playing it since. A nice distraction from work, since we've been completely engrossed in that. I actually checked on the little villagers before work both yesterday and today!
I cannot believe that we're less than a week from lineup day. And I need to write speeches and media guide copy and souvenir program copy in the next seven days . . . and then the financial forecasts are due *before* I head to Texas.
It seems impossible.
But then everything does this time of year. And somehow it all gets done . . .
But I've gotten Off Topic. Suffice it to say I have a lovely birthday. And now it's over!
