We gorged on Taco Bell after we left the fireworks party. Now that it happens right at the office, there was no reason not to stay.
When we first arrived (late from having left work late), the Mayor was just leaving. He hugged me and told me, "You have the best office in Portland." I have to agree. I was sorry to have him see it when it was trashed from staging the party.
The rain never stopped. It basically rained all day. Watching the people under umbrellas listening to Curtis Salgado and waiting for the fireworks show reminded me why I love Portland.
I kept to my two-drink minimum (for the most part), but I was pretty much on my ass from having had little or nothing to eat all day. Thus the Taco Bell. Jeff and I talked while I was sitting in the drive-thru. We were both shell-shocked by the FUBAR day we had!
Now it's time to head back to the office. I have a feeling Sue and Dennis were at the park all night, trying to prepare to re-open today.
Things aren't a total disaster . . . so far nobody has died.

I will try and reach you sometime on Monday. I sure hope this weather improves for you soon. Love Sue
Sounds like we're in for a lot more RAIN. You'll need hip-waders at the park by next weekend. Oh, well. Can't control that, I guess.
Sorry you couldn't hear my speech today. I had several Vietnam vets and wives of vets that came and thanked me.
But we're still alive. And we didn't kill anybody, either. (grin)
