Mistress Marilyn's POV
No shit, Tempus Fugit!
Back to Work, Thank God!

Four days at work go by like lightning. Only one day where I actually took a lunch. Only one day where I left at a reasonable hour.

But I really accomplished a lot, and it felt good! I needed to, since it seems like time stood still while I was gone. I had to completely put the auction video project together, prep for next week's big Nominating Committee meeting, prep for personnel reviews, do a little auction procurement (not my strong suit), do the final analysis on our printer/copier situation and try to alleviate some human resources issues, while I waded through the 350 emails that represented bullets on my 'to-do' list.

As of this evening, I was down to 75 in my email inbox. The HR stuff had been smoothed over. I think I have a good handle on the office systems. And tomorrow morning we drive to Mulino and do our first video interview for the auction presentation!

I have to admit that every evening after work I've fallen fast asleep, exhausted. The long, intense hours are getting harder and harder to take. I hope I'm able to get back to exercise by next week, but I have at least two evening meetings on my schedule. And I *have* to fit a massage in, or my neck and shoulders will shatter like a Twilight vampire.

Speaking of Twilight, I got my feedback for the last challenge, and the one person who voted mine the WORST story thought it was well written but didn't match the prompt (one character dreaming about another). Obviously this reader did not recognize the stranger with the sunflower-colored hair that Edward sees at the World Series game is Carlisle. And in the story he actually dreams about him twice! Quote: And last night I dreamed of the golden stranger, saw him hovering above me as I lay in my bed, his pallid face just inches from my own.

Holy shit. Has this person even seen Twilight? I'd shrug if my shoulder could take it.

MOST IMPORTANT UPDATE: Henry is on Day Five of his cortisone regimen, and he's getting back to normal, eating, drinking, even playing a little. And he's rope-a-doping again, dragging his big rope around the house and kneading the furniture, his version of kitty masturbation. Tonight for the first time, he met us at the door when we got home from work! I can't say enough about what a blessing this has been.

Gotta get to bed, because we've got a long drive first thing tomorrow!

Thank you so much for saving me with my car break down. Can anything else go wrong, yes for sure it can, but I am not asking it to happen. The small rant with the two of you helped also. I will be fine today and soon this too will pass.

I am sure your story was the best, but then I am always going to think that. The person who said yours was the worst just plain sucks. Only my opinion.

The day is going to be so beautiful, wish we were on our way to the beach. You two should go for the nice ride and relax a bit.

You are so good at your job, and have the place ship shape by a few days of very intense work. What would they do without you. I know that people can always be replaced, but your shoes will be very hard to fill when you hang it up.

Have a good day and I will talk to you tomorrow when you aren't working.
I am so happy about Henry and keep him in my prayers each day. Being better is wonderful and more normal must seem like a miracle. Sue
