I won Challenge #5
at my Last Author Standing community! I'm dumbfounded and delighted. You just never know what people will like, and this one was a crossover with one of my fave fandoms, The Dark Knight
, so it was a bit chancy. Anyway, I started this story for Challenge #2
, but then no crossovers were allowed 'til now, so when I finished it, I worked it out to fit with the prompt, 'Making a Stand.' I won with four votes--and no votes against, for once!
Anyway, great way to top off a great day. We drove to the beach and it was beautiful! Played Fascination (regular games), and I won three in a row. Then a couple games later I got a two-way win, a first in all the years I've been playing. Finally we got kicked out for lack of players. We had pizza and beer next door at Fultano's, then played Scat Cat and Skeeball and Ms. PacMan. Oh, and we walked down to the turnaround on the promenade and watched the sunset.
My only regret was not taking my Shilo Inn giftcard and staying overnight!
Overall, it was lovely--a good day to be alive. (Aren't they all?)
