(Can't believe it's been nearly a week since I posted. Lordy.)
I worked about five hours in the office last night, until it got so dark and stormy, I couldn't stand it. Being all alone in that building is scary, especially knowing anyone in the park can just sit and watch my every move. (Like they'd be out there in that storm.)
There were crows everywhere, flying around and cawing. There were probably 50 or so outside my window at one point, but I couldn't get a good picture.
When it got dark and my Direct TV went out ("Searching for Signal"), I packed up and left. I was soaked by the time I got the 30 feet to my car.
So, I didn't even come close to finishing everything I needed to do, meaning it's back to the office tonight! The Annual Meeting is Thursday night, and I have a massage tomorrow night and a late meeting on Wednesday. So it's got to be tonight. I have the script to finish and the whole PowerPoint to do! And I have a lot of other work, as well, since Friday is the final day of our fiscal year. If I start to feel overwhelmed, I just remind myself that last year we were preparing to move and had spent the weekend cleaning out the old office.
Even with the storm, I should mention that I love this time of year. I love the sun and storms battling for dominance, and I love the feeling of wanting to curl up with a book and eat chili and crackers. And, of course, I love Halloween!
