Just got back from the big WalMart 'event' for the release of Eclipse (stood in a huge, cordoned-off line around the store with a dude dressed in blue talking into a radio about how "everything's going smoothly"). Got to wish charliemc
a happy b-day while we were there, hehe. Bought her a copy for her personal dvd player.
So, they had cake and two chicks divvying out dvds from behind a counter. Not quite the same as driving to Forks and going to Dazzled by Twilight's release party, then staying on the rez overnight, which was my original plan. With my schedule this week, it wouldn't have worked.
We managed to stand with a woman who was even geekier than we are . . . yeesh. A huge contingent of Twilight fans are . . . interesting, to say the least.
At least I'm 'caught up' at work--budgets done, credit card reconciled, expense report finished. No, I didn't get my personnel reviews written or the actual meetings scheduled, but I'll get that done next week. I facilitated getting Jeff's contract negotiated and finalized the payroll budget (almost), so that was a huge accomplishment, too. Today I was in meetings from 8:30-4:30 without a break. Luckily I had two latte's hand-delivered from Starbucks. First, the Waterfront chairman brought me a huge double shot at 8:30, the the prez brought me an iced latte' at 11:00. When the parade chairman got there at 3:00, I asked him where my Starbucks was.
I'll do a separate post on the struggle I'm having with my entry in this Last Author Standing Challenge. I have not gotten my inspiration quite yet.
