Sisters, Sisters~

Here's what a friend (Tami) posted on my wall at Facebook last week. I loved this, so wanted to memorialize it here:

Someone asked me if I was envious or jealous of anyone...I thought for a moment. You and your sister (Charlie) poppped into my head. How lucky you both are to have trust, love and respect for one another as people. The dedication and protection you show for one another is a beautiful thing. You two are a year long gift to those of us who struggle to understand our siblings. Thank you for showing us it can be done.

Anyone who knows me knows I'm blessed to have two great sisters. The 'Three Sisters' (also the name of three mountains here in Oregon) are definitely a dynamic trio. And, of course, Charlie and I have been joined at the hip since we were kids. For years it seemed that many people considered it a negative thing, and there was a lot of jealousy in the worst sense of the word from both friends and family.

But for the past couple of decades, our relationship has definitely been accepted and appreciated, more and more. And the above comment from a friend who knows us mostly through another good friend really says a lot. I wanted to be sure I didn't forget.
