Mistress Marilyn's POV
No shit, Tempus Fugit!
What a long, tiring day . . .

I took a very long nap tonight (after enjoying another glut of macaroni and cheese and cornbread).

I was proud today to work with the people I do. I was proud of the dignity of my two friends who got the bad news, and proud of our young E.D. for staying strong but showing his humanity.

This is from the card left on my desk at the end of the day:

Marilyn. Wow. I know I have seen true leadership. The work you have done with A***n and D**i is amazing. Just by being respectful and trusting your gut you have made this a better situation all around. I just wanted to let you know that I continually am amazed by you and learn so much your from you. Jenny.

That was a perfect punctuation to the day. It's so humbling to watch people's lives changing right in front of your face and to talk to disappointed people who still love the organization and respect you despite the bad news.

The card left by your co-worker says it all better than I can...

I'm impressed by how much you clearly care about your organization and those who work there.

Hard to lose friends on the job.

Hang in there!

(I'd send you cyber mac and cheese, but you clearly have the real thing. LOL. How about some cyber cocktails???)

Love,

Bri

I don't envy you, but I sure admire you. Hang in there.

Ditto.

I can't begin to express my admiration, actually.

Be kind to yourself and don't work too hard because of the loss of personnel...

Just think how these guys are gonna miss having you for a boss! I feel sorry for them for that more than anything else.
