Mistress Marilyn's POV
No shit, Tempus Fugit!

Wow, what a crazy week it's been already. I had a nice long weekend, but the past two days have made up for it with meetings and phone calls and no breaks. And now I have to work Saturday, which I was hoping to get out of. The ninth year in a row I've added the scores for jurying the arts festival, and I thought using the computer would mean they didn't need me. But we'll need the speed round for compiling the four judges scores, and my grade school math Olympics will still come in handy.

Oh, well.

What did Dad always say? "It's a great life if you don't weaken."

I haven't weakened yet.

But I have fallen off the running schedule. Sunday I'm supposed to go to the track and do ten miles. Ummm, I don't think that's going to happen. But after this I am getting on the treadmill. I'll need to assess the half marathon goal soon, because it's getting more and more challenging.

In the meantime, I've gotten obsessed with 'Hart's War.' This is a whole new pairing for me, Hart/McNamara, and I need somebody to write it. It was Joey who originally loved this flick and did all the research. But if he won't write it, maybe Jim will. They both like the military stuff. If not, I'll do it myself when I have a chance (which means next summer). If I have a chance to write any fanfic, it's going to be Colin's exorcism.

Tomorrow night is the political event, then the IMAX outing with our engineers. Brian and Ira are 'moving in' tomorrow with the film project, and in the next two weeks we're going to paint and decorate that office into 'Centennial Central.' Come hell or high water.

And I actually made a sponsorship sale. I still can't quite believe it, but it's a cool feeling for someone who's just not a sales person. I forgot to tell Dick when he called just before I left the office at 6:30, but he'll get a kick out of it.

And Tom wrote me a new poem today. And then I had a dream about kissing him while I slept tonight (to 'Sin City' -- far out!), and his lips were exactly like they were when we were teenagers. Ain't life strange?

A huge thank you to dandelow for my fabulous new High Maintenance icon!!! In a coincidental twist, Manny Fernandez stopped by today with a basket full of his two four-month-old Pekenese babies! And I got double kisses.

So glad you liked 'The New World.' It just tanked here and disappeared, but I really loved it, too.

Tom is the high school boyfriend who suddenly reappeared in December. We've been emailing each other non-stop.

Glad you're back and feeling better!!!!!

How Dad would love it that we still quote all his favorites! (Didn't he have an awful lot of them? And weren't they great?)

What did Dad always say? "It's a great life if you don't weaken."

One of his best. (grin)

You didn't tell me about the puppies!!!

Gearing up for Saturday. (sigh) Anyway, we'll be there, being supportive. (As always.)
