No time to catch up with my flist, although I gave it a quick try. We drove to the beach with Sue yesterday, and it was a lovely, mild day. We went to Seaside (sorry, Joey) and had lunch at our favorite cafe there. When we drove into town, we saw all the construction -- and we thought they had taken out the Fascination parlor! The front was completely boarded up, and we sat through lunch sick to our stomachs that such a relic of our past was finally gone.
We have always loved to drive to Seaside and play Fascination, a fun game Bingo-style game with palm-sized rubber balls that you roll into holes on a smooth board. (I actually wrote about it in my NaNo novel.)
After lunch we walked to the arcade and found out the parlor was still there, open at the back. So we played for about 90 minutes and won lots of tickets and got lots of trinkets. Then we drove home listening to the Phantom soundtrack.
I fell asleep on the couch last night and ended up staying there after we finished grocery shopping. And now the rain is back and I need to do a little more shopping and go to work. Charlie and I put another coat of paint on the Centennial room on Friday night, and today we need to pull off the tape, put the furniture back in, and then I have to finish the board update.
I guess I'll watch the Oscars while I work.
(Just read that Rafael beat Federer in Dubai! That's quite a way to come back to the tour.)
ETA: Did I say the rain was back? Wrong! It was a lovely day, so we drove through Longview, met a guy with his cat ("Rusty") on a leash at beautiful Sacajawea Park, and got back to the office in time to turn on the Oscars just as it started. Got the update done and set up the Centennial office. (It was too bad about 'Brokeback.' I haven't seen 'Crash,' so I can't comment on that win. But I was glad to see George win one out of three.)
