So, I managed to get most of my forecasts done today, which sort of surprised me. I tried to be patient with Rich, but I sounded like a third grade teacher (at least it was better than a second grade teacher). I admitted I was a bad teacher, but I couldn't tell what he couldn't understand. Anyway, I stuck with my guns and made him do his forms himself, even though I walked him through it.
When I was done with him, I had 27 new emails.
Anyway, I motored through everything but Foundation admin.
Here's the problem:
Financial forecasts are due on a Friday.
The finance director doesn't work Fridays.
The executive director was out all afternoon.
The marketing director left by noon.
The marketing admin took today off.
So . . .
My only break from work work today was to do my bills (12 of them!). Where does all this ambition come from? No wonder I sleep like the dead in the evenings. I don't think I've seen one thing on TV this week.
I felt sorry for Kerry trying to answer my questions, because by 4:30 when I realized I had forgotten a piece of the parade forecast, I was frustrated.
Well, on another note, Charlie's computer crashed, and $200 later, she's having to reinstall everything. I don't know how she can stand it, frankly, but luckily she can. I can barely stand listening to it.
And Kittie Scarlett had her first visit to our vet yesterday. And $150 later, she's in good health and has a new chip installed, just in case we lose her sometime. (And with that marked ear, we don't want anyone thinking she's a feral cat!) Turns out she's more than a year old and she's definitely been a mother at least once. But she's a tiny thing, nonetheless, and I guess she always will be.
The sun has come out. We had our first 70 degree day this week, and Sunday it's supposed to be mid-to-high 70s. Of course I have an event in the middle of the day and another starting at 6:00, but nonetheless it feels good. And tomorrow I don't think I'm working at all. We'll see how that goes.
