The duathlon went off with only a couple hitches (the lead cops got the course wrong and pissed off the first five bicyclists). The weather was perfect, numbers were not great, but the event site was much improved over last year. I have no idea where we go from here on it, but we'll have to see later.
We were on site for five and a half hours, then got coffee and crashed. I spent the rest of the day watching the Law & Order: CI marathon on USA, plus 'War of the World' (Cruise). Then we had a big thunder storm here with rain and lightening, and it was eerie after watching the movie.
We worked from 8:30 to 4:30 yesterday, then went and saw 'The DaVinci Code.' It was okay, Bettany was fantastic (worth seeing the movie for), but Tom Hanks was a huge disappointment. (If only Russell could have played the role.) Funny how much more suspenseful the book was, considering the medium. I guess the box office was huge. I thought Mission was far more entertaining.
I have a 7:30 meeting tomorrow morning, and I have dozens of ops orders to get out in the next couple of days. But Friday was a great day. Got the Coro script almost done, the radio station satisfied, and we finally signed a contract with the film guys. That felt very good after all this time. Jenny and I went out for a beer with Kelly, Adrian and Dani, and it was so good to see them. Kelly's willing to come in and help out on Memorial Day. She rocks.
I'm beat. But it's a good kind of beat (old joke).
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder, You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger, May you never take one single breath for granted, God forbid love ever leave you empty handed, I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean, Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens, Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance, and when you get the chance to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance!
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance, Never settle for the path of least resistance, Living might mean taking chances, but they're worth taking, Loving might be a mistake, but it's worth making, Don't let some hell-bent heart leave you bitter, When you come close to selling out, reconsider, Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance, And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance!
