Last day of July!

We saw 'Vice' last night, and it was enjoyable. I need to let it sink in and think more about it. There were parts of it that were SO traditional Vice and parts that were so different and new. I loved some of the scenery, the use of the city and water and roads (very Vice). But the two big gunfights were both in pretty forgettable spots (although that *also* is very Vice).

I think I need to see it again. I swear there were no opening credits, and that's nuts.

I had heard the use of music was underplayed, but I liked it. I loved the fact it started with 'Numb' and ended with 'The Air Tonight,' the most famous of the Vice songs. Anyway, more to come, including my thoughts about Colin as Sonny.

(Weird note: I loved the sound of the popping guns. Very different.)

We didn't play tennis either Saturday or Sunday! (I watched a lot, that's for sure, although most of it was forgettable.)

The sun's back out today, after a major cool-down this weekend.

And we survived the damn staff picnic. God, I just *HATE* the staff picnic with a passion, even in a park two blocks from my house.

Oh, and I heard from Tom! He's working too hard, but almost on vacation for a long trip, so I won't hear from him for a couple weeks.)
