Gotta go do the mini-tramp (or something). I slept thru the good TV tonight, after a day of six meetings, ten and a half hours straight.
Tomorrow I need to send out a nagging email about our writer's circle. I finished my own story over the weekend, but I'm not sure how pleased I am with it. And I am *not* ready for NaNo! I haven't re-read my novel or outlined where I go from here, and I have a feeling I won't.
And I haven't picked out a Halloween costume.
What's up with that?
I have lunch with Kelly and Adrian tomorrow, and that will be fun. And tomorrow afternoon we have seven auditions for our historical characters and our first creative team meeting for the parade. I'm going to get people warmed up with a DVD I got this week of footage from the 50s (with Roy Rogers and Guy 'Zorro' Williams when they were grand marshals). Then for the third Friday this month I'm working on my day off, Friday.
Two Fridays ago, on the one I actually had off, was the day we were hit by the crazy kid. And right now the car is in the shop (and I learned this week won't be ready until late next week, no surprise).
Kerry started early labor (or some other complication), and we had to hire a new sales person. I think in the long run, despite the extra expense, it will be the right thing. I'm looking forward to it, actually.
And I'm sick of being the kindergarten teacher, trying to keep everybody playing nice. I told our pres-elect that today, and I mentioned in manager's meeting that I'm always in the middle of every issue, staff or board. This person isn't happy with that one, and they both eventually come to me. And I'm always weighing how much to tell and how to resolve the issue. I should be working for the frigging U.N.
In the meantime, Colin Kitty is getting so big. And he's so lovable. I can't resist him.
Gotta go work out . . .
